To put together a good outfit, you need clothes (obviously) and a sense of stylistic balance. Many PCS students had fantastic fits this month, all of which exemplified balance. Between bold and basic, Corissa Johnson Swalve wore Miss Me jeans that had rhinestoned pockets, making her look like an off-duty Victoria’s Secret Angel. In fact, low rise, boot cut jeans are very popular right now, following their initial popularity in the early 2000s. Both models and actresses were spotted wearing low rise boot cut jeans with bedazzled back pockets on red carpets in the early 2000s. In a similar fashion, (no pun intended 😉 Malia Santos turned heads in an outfit reminiscent of Rikki Chadwich, an underrated style icon from H2O Just Add Water. H2O Just Add Water is a classic show from the early 2000s.
One aspect of Malia and Corissa’s outfits that made the fits so hot was the balance of a bold piece of clothing and a simpler piece of clothing. For Corissa, the pocket bedazzlement on her Miss Me’s was bold, but she balanced it with a classic black tank top. On the other hand, Malia’s cute Y2K tee was paired with an unembellished pair of jeans, creating the perfect balance of bold and humble. We also captured Lucas Miller’s outfit; his black t-shirt and camo print baggy jeans were the perfect example of balance. Leia Lindsay captured a flawless blend of striking and calm with a summery outfit; she wore baggy overalls on top of a white, lacy tank top. The bagginess of the overalls was contrasted with the daintiness of the white shirt. Additional excellent fits were seen on Cleo Roberts, Danny Riva, and the one and only, Owen Randolph.
