Audrey Lujan and Arie McNeil, Teacher

When you walk into Sierra Opbroek’s classroom, you can tell she is a great teacher, loves nature, and is very organized. When you first have a class with Ms. Opbroek, who students call Ms. O, seems to be very kind and orderly. However, once you get to know her better, she is fun, very kind and very calm. She is the Study Skills and Technology teacher at PCS.

You will notice that Ms. O has many items reminiscent of nature in her classroom. On the first day of school, Ms. O gives you a field trip waiver for you to sign, thus enabling you and your other classmates to go on walks. Ms. O’s love for nature started when was young. She loves aquatic animals and will go fishing anytime. She has enjoyed  taking photographs for “what feels like forever!”

Ms. O loves the ocean. Her favorite colors are blue and green because she feels drawn to it. Before Ms. O  was a teacher at PCS, she lived in Arizona during her childhood and later moved to LA. She studied biology in college and wanted to be a biology teacher when she graduated. Ms. O has never had a full-time teaching  job before PCS., but was a substitute teacher at many schools before ultimately accepting the position at PCS.

Some interesting facts about Ms Opbroek are that she has a 16 year old brother, loves getting tattoos, and also wants to start meditating. One day, she wants to venture on a cross country road trip across all 49 states!
