Please note the difference between a review and a ReVU. A review is a helpful, informative, unbiased, and informed article about a performance and an opinion of it. A ReVU one of my unhelpful, completely useless, totally biased “articles” that I barely researched.  

My ReVU Musicians Cast (very thoroughly researched)
Auditioning for the show “Can I play the piano part? I started piano last week, and officially know all 3 key signatures!”

“Sure! You’re in!”

 “Can I be in the Seussical? My singing range is a decent 5 half-steps and I can act super well!”

“Sure! You’re in!”
Preparing for the Show, before tech week “Raise your hand if you’re confused about the music.”

—–silence and lowered arms—–

“OK, we’re good. See you in Tech”

 Rehearsals Monday through Sunday, from 3:16pm to 8:13am the next day, from the week after auditions until tech week. NO COMPLAINING.
Tech Week “Oh dear, I’ll have to do my homework before 5:30 PM. Damn. That’s inconvenient.”

—–The next day—–

Hmph… I’m tired… Are you tired?…

 “To budget my time, I’ll have to do homework until 4:30 AM and during Tutorial, Break, and Lunch. It’ll work…”

Zzzz… Huh? Present… Zzzz…
Before the show
  1. Assemble instrument
  2. Tune and do warm ups
  3. Wait
  4. Wait
  5. Wait
  6. “Start” the show
  1. Go through pre-show yoga
  2. Change into 7 piece costume
  3. Go through elaborate 30 minute ceremony to get into character
  4. Do vocal warmups
  5. Wait for the- IT’S STARTING
During the show During the small breaks in scenes

1…..2…..3……4…-wait, did I miss a measu-MY ENTRA- plays

During scenes they aren’t playing in

“A break! Yay, some time to rela”-gets cued to play– “Ugh…”

Messing Up

Note to self: Find a place where we messed up to make actors feel better

Stand, smile, don’t knock another sign onto the percussionist’s head

During scenes they aren’t in

Change costumes, fidget, fix costume stuff, think about how lucky you are

Messing up

No notable mistakes, that I saw, which isn’t really saying much. Still, nice job.
