The 2016 Oscars were hosted by Chris Rock, who brought to light the absence of any black actor oscar winners this year. He asked the question “is Hollywood racist?”, which he answered that yes Hollywood is racist, but in a manner he called as sorority racism, a much more subtle way. Though Chris Rock did do a good job of addressing the all white Oscar, he failed to represent any other race, such as Latino or Asian for example.

In fact he made a joke, saying that the results of that night were calculated by “Price Water House Coopers”, and that they’re sending out “their most accurate, hard working representatives”. Three asian kids were sent out on stage, each dressed in a suit and holding a briefcase, serving to make a jab at the “asians excel at math” stereotype. Then Chris Rock addressed the audience saying they can go ahead and be mad at him and complain on twitter, but “remember who made those phones for you”, meaning the kids on stage.
