The Coin Prankster

The Coin Prankster

Somebody–we’ll call them the PCS Coin Prankster–has been going around campus glueing coins to various objects, in attempt to trick students into trying to pick them up.  According to Dan Hogan, the PCS building manager, coins have been found in a variety of locations, ranging from sinks and urinals to staircases.

When asked about the situation, Mr. Hogan said: “I see the sarcasm and humor that one is trying to produce here, but ultimately it is damaging school property, bathroom fixtures, handrail paint and chipping the handrail wood, making my job harder. SO LET’S FIND A WAY TO STOP THIS PLEASE!”

The culprit of this prank is still unknown, but may be male since coins have been glued to fixtures in the boys bathrooms.  The most common location of a coin spotting is on the stair railing above Mr. Koens’ room.  Almost everyone that we interviewed told us that they had seen that coin.

Sophomore Nate Emeny-Smith arrived on the scene of a recent gluing: “When I tried to pick up a coin, it had not actually dried yet, and there was still wet glue on the bottom.”

Senior Austin Ojeda noted that “it must be really hard to remove one of those coins without damaging the surface that it is on.”

According to Mr. Fletcher, the school has removed the coins that can be detached without major damage to the subsurface. Mr. Fletcher commented: “I think whoever is doing this should understand that they are wasting valuable time and money for their own self-entertainment. I wish whoever knows who the culprit is would come forward so we can spend our time and money on more important things.”
